Tiny Trotters Riding Club

This program was created from the innate curiosity children have for horses. Despite their size, children are captivated by these magnificent creatures, and horses, in return, are often drawn to children. This mutual fascination creates a unique space for both to connect and form lasting bonds.

Our “Tiny Trotters” program caters to the younger equine enthusiast (ages 3-6) wanting to test out the waters of horseback riding. We work one on one with each student with an emphasis on safety and fun. These classes will educate your little-one on the fundamentals of horsemanship both in the saddle and on the ground. Classes will include (but not limited to) grooming, mounting the pony, stopping/starting, balance exercises, pole-work, intro to trotting, and horseback games! Classes are half an hour in length  

This program has been designed to ensure participants:

• build confidence and improve their safety when working around horses and ponies;
• foster a greater sense of responsibility through learning to groom and ensure their horses overall wellbeing;
• provide opportunities to collaborate and problem-solve with their peers in a positive environment;
• inspire creativity; and,
• to build relationships and improve communications with humans and animals.

Although the main focus of Rosewood Hunters & Jumpers is competitive riding, the Tiny Trotters program provides a special opportunity for kids to explore the magical world of horses. There is nothing more wondrous than watching children work in harmony with horses and ponies; to do so requires mutual respect, trust and understanding... all of which are fostered through this unique Club. There is so much to learn about horses, and that's what we're excited to share with our members.
